Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary School Teacher to join our team. As an Elementary School Teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping the minds and futures of young students. This is an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of homeschooled children and contribute to their educational development.
We are currently hiring multiple Elementary School Teachers. Our school runs from 9:00am-2:00pm Tuesdays-Thursdays. Teachers are required to stay until 3:00pm one day per week for an extracurricular class. Our school operates for 30 weeks, with an additional 3 weeks of Christmas School.
Responsibilities:
- Implement curriculum in a fun and engaging way
- Plan and implement games and activities
- Provide instruction in various subjects, including literacy, math, science, and social studies
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth by sending weekly parent emails
- Utilize screen free teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate with other teachers to enhance curriculum materials and coteach classes
- Foster a supportive and respectful Christian classroom community that promotes positive behavior
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students, promoting their social development
- Communicate regularly with Director of Education regarding student progress and achievements
Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective instruction and communication with students, parents, and colleagues
- Excellent proofreading skills to ensure accurate written materials for lesson plans, assessments, and student feedback
- Proficient in lesson implementation to create engaging and comprehensive lessons
- In-depth knowledge of literacy and math education strategies to support reading, writing, and mathematical development
- Ability to mentor students by providing guidance, support, and encouragement
- Understanding of childhood development principles to tailor instruction to individual needs
- Knowledge of special education strategies to support students with diverse learning needs
